    Lane Near Street

Post  petergj on Wed Nov 10, 2010 10:48 pm

We were on the Yorkshire Moors last weekend and rode Mount Misery - which I understand is now open again despite the no car/bike signs at each end.

Can someone advise on the two lanes at Darncombe near Langdale End. On my TRF marked map, one should be accessible to bikes (but has Forrestry Commission signs saying clearly no bikes) and the other is shown as permissive to Backleys Farm (but the gate has a "home made" no bikes/quads sign). Any advice?

    Many thanks for any comments.

    Thanks,

An update will be given at the Agm about your questions. The lane near street might have some problems due to the fact it goes through someones garden.

I rode this lane yesterday down towards the house.

The top of the lane is very wet and peppered with large stones that look as though they have been pushed from the dry stone wall on the right hand side, Its a bit tricky and awkward but it is passable.

Might be fun the other way though.

The house owner was at home as one of the cars had the tail gate open, we used the stone bridge and went across unchallenged although there was a home made sign on it saying no access.
