    Complaint from mountain bike riders.

Post  rikidooos on Tue Nov 19, 2013 9:18 am

On Sunday 17th a group of 8 mountain bikers pedaling from the top of Ingleby Incline to Cockayne. At a junction (Bloworth Crossing) passed by a group of motorcycle riders stopped, with their engines off. As the mountain bikers we passed there was an exchange of hellos as we passed and carried on our way.

Around 5 minutes later the leader of the trail riding group passed the cyclists very closely at about 25 mph and once passed, increased the throttle to somewhere near full to fire whatever stones were on the ground at the cyclists! One of the cyclists got hit on the helmet and forearm (protecting his face). Gladly the rest of the motorcyclists passed at a respectful pace with no dramas.

The message has come from the cyclists please allow them room on the trails and before using hard acceleration think about other users on the lanes that might be hit with stones lifted from the bikes rear wheels.

The trail riders remain un-identified and there is a good chance they are not TRF members.
