    Hello, from Devon

Post  Guest on Sun Apr 14, 2013 5:42 pm

    Hello.
I now live in Devon - but I used to live in County Durham.
I've been riding motorbikes since I passed my test in 1963.

I currently trail my TTR in Devon's lanes as often as I can.

I sometimes trail my Triumph Tiger Cub.

If any of you fancy a visit and guided tour of Devon's lanes then let me know. bounce

The top picture looks like a view of Robin Hoods Bay near Whitby.

    Hello Rikidooos.
I'm afraid that is the view you get looking eastward from Peak Hill towards Sidmouth in Devon. Shocked

Devon has plenty of good trail views, as does the Yorkshire coastline, but we're unique in the UK having two (North and South) coastlines.

    Hi Martyn,

Thanks for getting in touch and your generous offer of a guided tour of Devon lanes, but I fear it's a bit too far for me to travel.

I too ride a TTR250 [perfect bike for what I do] in fact i'm about to set off on Wednesday to do a 400-450 mile 3 day round trip, with 2 nights stop over in Weardale.

This is likely to be our first lane of the second day, recognise it?

    Hi Rod.
You're asking me where that is? Question
It isn't a view that I'm overly familiar with, but at a guess I'd go for somewhere just North of Westgate.
Is it Seeingsike Road? (NY 905 398)
If it is that neck of the woods then I may have done it on a previous Beamish Trophy Trial.
Although I ought to have remembered it (steep & rugged) I really draw a blank! Crying or Very sad

You will have to end my misery and let me know.

    That's the one Martyn.

You'll probably have gathered the forum isn't used very much, i'm the 4th highest user, been registered 3 years and only 43 posts. Most members aren't interested in the forum and prefer to go to meetings to keep up to date with what's going on, I too like that idea.

Don't let that stop you posting though, i'll watch out for them.

A couple more in the snow last year, Grass Hills Causeway & Long Cross [I think]

    Would love to visit

    Hi Martyn,
Good to hear from you, I for one would love to come down and ride the Devon lanes. I lived in Torbay for a few years and still visit family down there from time to time.
I'm yet another ttr250 rider, though have just got an XT660 tenere too, so might have a ride down on that next time I come down.

    Will be in touch

    Craig
