    Mitas C02 Tyre

Post  petergj on Tue Mar 29, 2011 8:42 pm

I have a Mitas C02 Stoneking Cross Rear 120/90-18 on the rear wheel of my KTM. I recently had the bike MOT'd and was asked what the red stripe signified - I said that it signified the tyre was "road legal". Can anyone confirm this and advise how long the red stripe remains visible?

    Thanks,

They are road legal. Check them out on the wolf sport web site. That is who supplies all the retailers with the Tyres.
Next time buy a mitas / trellborg super ten master. They are megga! Only available from trellborg.

Think you'll find the coloured band is nothing to do with road legal, but just signifies the "ply rating" of the tyres, they need an "E" mark to be road legal. If anyone knows different please correct me.

The e mark has a number and it denotes country of manufacture. It needs to have a dot stamp to be road legal.

I agree they are good in mud and most other conditions, but on wet polished rocks and wet roads No

Which tyre are you actualy refering to? as there are 2 tyres:- TEN MASTER & SUPER MASTER both "were" road legal, but now branded as MITAS only the TEN MASTER is road legal. I would still be useing the SUPER MASTER if legal, I don't like the TEN MASTER on wet rocks and wet roads.

Mitas X Treme 754 (Formerly TrelleborgTen Master)
They are very good in soft ground & work well on tree routes.
