    Best two stroke ?

Post  Miff on Tue Feb 01, 2011 8:46 pm

OK, so the Gasser 300 is ten years old, and although it's running fine (I have had a rebore, piston, rings and reeds) I'm thinking of a newer bike

    I like:

Two stoke power, lightness and easy maintenance

    I dont like:

Premixing oil & 8 miles per litre

    Any suggestions ?

Do you need to ask? Ktm 300 of course!
Plenty of power and brilliant on fuel. Parts are cheap and very easy to get hold of.
A great trail bike. New ones have electric start. Or wait until July for the new shape if you really want splash the cash!
    A very versatile bike.
Ride it on the pipe and you going fast! Lol.

Gassers are good but need maintenance as you no. They also like a drink.
Yz have a close ratio box so work well in woods but not on the road.
Ktm out of the box just work well and parts are easy to obtain.
You could get a new husaberg 2t it's just a blue ktm so you would be different with better suspension than a ktm.
Resale of a ktm is always easy though.

Yep I would not like to think I had a 4t. So many moving parts when they go wrong. Valves, cam shafts big cylinder heads ooooh that's all expensive. Nice disposable 2t! Lol

i have just done 1000 miles on 2011 ec250 .With 178 main 42 pilot cck needle it dose 40 mpg .Power characteristics are trials like with little four stroking on constant throttle but with good top end hit.If you get one remove one of the side stand springs to prevent the bottom chain roller bracket from snapping.Hope this of some help.PS some one local did 20000 one one piston apparently.
