    Digital Maps

Post  rikidooos on Thu Jan 06, 2011 8:34 am

I have just copied this message from the National forum. It might be of interest.

Most GPS users will have heard of Memorymap, but there is an alternative called Anquet Maps. It's not as easy to use and it certainly has its foibles, but the maps tend to work out cheaper. Just for good measure, Anquet are running a half-price sale for January, either for off-the-shelf regions, or for 'roll your own' maps that you cut via the download manager.

As I said, the user interface isn't great, but you can probably get an electronic copy of your local area for a tenner at OS 50K level, for which you can print out your own maps and routes as many times as you like.

If you want to know more, check out http://www.anquet.co.uk/ordnance-survey-sale-maps.aspx?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_content=link1&utm_campaign=jansale2

Just to be clear, I have no affiliation to Anquet and will not personally benefit whatever you do, I'd just like to see more people using digital maps because there's a lot to be said for them.
