Ride slow at the chicken farm

Post  rikidooos on Sun Dec 26, 2010 4:05 pm

I have been asked by the farmer at the farm between Swainby and Faceby (Whorl Hill) to ask if people can ride as quiet as possible past the chicken sheds. Apparently when the chickens hear loud noises they panic and smother each other. This has happened twice in the last few months and cost him a few hundred quid each time in dead chickens.

This is the second time in the last month that the farmer has complained about irresponsible riding and he's a nice bloke who doesn't mind trail riders. So please tell everyone that might use the lane RIDE QUIETLY past the chicken sheds.

This is our second warning - see my post on 14th November. I don't believe the farmer can stop us from using the lane through his farm but he could be awkward. We all need to be on our best behaviour!
