I have just been over to IOM for a holiday with a friend. He's in the IOM 4x4 club, and took me out for a day in his 'Boober' (cut down Range Rover).

Now I'm normally dead against the 4 x 4s due to the damage they do round the moors, being mainly grass and dirt.

The IOM is more mountainous(?), so more rock and shale which seems to stand up the 'grinding' of four 24" wheels doing 0.1 MPH, and one particular track had been re-graded by the government and was smooth as silk.

It's a shame to segregate, but the IOM government are doing the right thing by controlling the seasonal times and routes of the various vehicles.

I will definitely be going over with the bike !

It's great fun on the bike until it rains! The smooth rock turns to sheet ice. But it is a cracking place to go.
